Though Dave Matthews Band’s 2008 tour has come to a close,
the group’s namesake will play two additional shows this month in support of Democratic
presidential nominee Barack Obama. This Sunday Matthews will play a solo acoustic
show in his hometown of Seattle
for the Downtown Seattle Sheraton. Tickets for the high-priced event range from $1,000 to $25,000. Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, is scheduled to
appear.
On Sunday October 26, Matthews will partner with his
longtime associate Tim Reynolds for the free Last Chance for Change show at Richmond, VA’s ALLTEL
Pavilion at the VCU
Stuart C.
Siegel Center.
According to the pair, the concert aims "to urge Virginians to vote for the
change our country needs - affordable, accessible health care for every
American, tax relief for middle class families struggling in this economy and a
responsible end to the Iraq
war." Tickets are required for the performance and can be picked up this
Saturday, beginning at 10 AM EST.
