Dave Matthews Band has confirmed that its next release will capture the group's appearance at Denver's Mile High Music Festival this past July. The aptly-titled Live at Mile High Music Festival is actually the second Dave Matthews Band release to document a 2008 performance, but the first to feature Jeff Coffin. The Flecktones saxophonist subbed for saxophonist LeRoi Moore this past summer and will likely join the group in a more official capacity next year.

According to the group, the performance was selected for both its intense jams and its selection of rare covers. The show took place after a week-long break during band’s four-mouth summer outing and includes versions of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” and Sly and the Family Stone’s “Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin),” as well as Matthews’ solo cuts “Eh Hee” and “Gravedigger.” In addition, Live at Mile High Music Festival features an extended segue consisting of “So Much To Say,” “Anyone Seen the Bridge,” “Too Much,” “Ants Marching” and a tease of “Also Sprach Zarathustra."

As previously reported, the quintet spent time in the studio earlier this year working on a new studio. Dave Matthews Band’s last proper album, Stand Up, was released in 2005.
