A number of blues guitarists, whose careers span several generations, will perform together as part of the traveling Experience Hendrix tour. The five-city trek will open October 16 at Washington, DC’s Constitution Hall and make stops at New York’s Beacon Theatre (October 17), Hampton Beach, NH’s Casino Ballroom (October 18), Atlantic City, NJ’s Trump Casino(October 19) and Waterbury, CT’s Palace Theatre (October 20). The revolving cast will feature Buddy Guy, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, onetime Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, Hubert Sumlin and Double Trouble's Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, among others. Jimi Hendrix’s longtime rhythm section, bassist Billy Cox and drummer Mitch Mitchell, will anchor the entire outing.

Guy, Shepherd and Sumlin appeared on the first Experience Hendrix Tour in 2004. 2007 marks the 40th anniversary of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s breakthrough recording, Are You Experienced?
