Hip-hop/party trio Beastie Boys unveiled their new live show
at the 2007 edition of Sasquatch. As a nod to their new all instrumental album,
The Mix-Up, the trio offered both a
set of classic Beastie Boy material and a set of completely instrumental music.
In August, the group will hit the road for a full tour, headlining Philadelphia’s Festival Pier (8/1), Boston’s
Bank of America Pavilion (8/6),New
York’s Summerstage (8/8), Brooklyn’s McCarren Pool (8/9), Denver’s Red Rocks (8/16), Santa
Barbara’s County Bowl (8/23) and Berkeley’s Greek Theater (8/25). According to
the group, those dates will “feature Beastie Boys in all their traditional hip
hop glory.” Additional, more intimate dates showcasing the instrumental configuration
featured on The Mix-Up will be
announced shortly. The Mix-Up is due
out June 26 on Capitol. Pre-sales for
the above dates begin Thursday June 14th, with on-sales following Friday June
