Singer/songwriter/guitarist Amos Lee will release his third album, Last Days at the Lodge, on June 24 via
Blue Note Records. Lee’s latest project was produced by Don Was and also features guitarist Doyle Bramhall, Jr (Eric Clapton), Muscle Shoals keyboardist Spooner
Oldham (Neil Young, Aretha Franklin), bassist Pino Palladino (The Who, D’Angelo)
and drummer James Gadson (Bill Withers), among others. Lee attributes his
fuller, more rock-oriented sound to the large amount of time he has spent on
the road over the last four years with the likes of Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard,
Van Morrison and Paul Simon. Last fall, Dylan even invited Lee onstage for a
rare sit in on at the Chicago Theater for a version of “I Shall Be Released”
that also featured Elvis Costello. In
total, his first two records have also sold over a half million copies worldwide.
Lee is expected to confirm a national tour in the coming weeks.
