Over the past few years, Robert Randolph and the Family Band’s music has accompanied both basketball and football telecasts. A few years ago the group’s performance of "We Got Hoops" debuted as the NBA theme song. This past year the band provided the theme for ABC’s Saturday night college football series. Next month, Randolph and his group will extend their ambit into the hockey rink. On January 24th, the group will open the 55th NHL All-Star Game in Dallas, with a live version of “Thrill of It.”  Randolph and the Family Band will be in town a few days earlier and on the 21st will headline the NHL All- Star Concert to benefit The Leary Firefighters Foundation.
